About the author
J.K.Aspinall A Bermudian artist, writer and poet, she has a background as colourful as her vivid palette. Professional synchronized swimmer, Weeki Wachee Springs’s mermaid, Trans-Atlantic sailor, TV interviewer, public relations director of Castle Harbour Hotel -- she studied at New York’s Art Students League and created the textile screen printing firm of Pina of Bermuda, the island’s former producer for hand-screened yard goods. Award-winning short story writer, member of SCBWI, she’s known for fanciful, vibrant artworks of Bermuda and specializes in hand painted glass and matted art prints of Bermuda. Publishing through Some Child Books, her titles include: Shoo Cat Shoo, Bermuda Road Toad, The Tree Frog and the Poinsettia, and Bermuda in Art for Lovers of Colour. She utilizes her vast portfolio of art, ranging from Bermuda scenes to fanciful mermaids, cats, lizards and frogs, all originally created for screen printing, and weaves her stories around her art for book production.
